A do-it-yourself trademark searching service. It allows you to explore the entire U.S. Federal trademark database back to 1884 by any combination of 35 fields, including words in the mark, owner name and address, U.S. and International Class, Goods & Services, and much, much more! The database includes new applications as well as registered trademarks, both live and dead. Fees are for daily, monthly or annual unlimited searching.

Good website includes a searchable patent database (1976 - 1996), patent and trademark laws, links to other patent and trademark sites, et.al.

Canadian Intellectual Property Office
This site contains downloadable versions of the Patent Rules of Canada and the Manual of Patent Office Practice and other guides to Canadian patent law. However, a searchable patent database was not available.

Brainwave is a commercial outfit offering fee-based access to a variety of resources, with value-added compilation services. Brainwave offers everything from TRW credit reports, to company profiles, to scientific and technical information, to trademarks and patents, and to newspapers. Their information comes from a variety of resources, some readily available (like newspapers, ABI/Inform, etc.), others not so available.
